The crown jewel of India
The northern valley of Kashmir is one of the most beautiful places in the world, with a landscape that spans snow-capped mountains, tranquil silver lakes, and lush, forested hills. Kashmir’s unique culture is a confluence of over 4,000 years of Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim traditions. Once the playground of Mughal princes, Kashmir blossomed as a holiday spot under the British, and eventually became known as the “Switzerland of India” for its climate and scenery. But with its rich crafts, incredibly hospitable people, and abundant natural life, Kashmir deserves to be celebrated as a destination in its own right.
